could you make this rebloggable cos this rules (yr pizza analogies are awesome)
I can, and it is surprising how many things relate directly to pizza
i love you so much raptor
I am pro-pizza analogies in all things.
Also, this is great.
Problem - when cheese guy wants to withhold his cheese, he is told that he can but he won’t be allowed to have any pizza. There is no opt out with the government. Either you pay your “membership fee” or you’re threatened with violence. When the mob does that it’s called extortion.
This whole analogy equates society with government, which is a common (albeit often unintentional) and flawed argument from statists.
Of course there’s an opt-out from paying taxes. The party is America. He was allowed to withhold the cheese on the condition that he leaves the party.
If you don’t want to pay taxes, then you leave America. I wish you the best of luck in your new life as Ron Swanson, living off the grid in the wilderness where you don’t have to pay taxes or enjoy the things the money that’s been “extorted” from you like public roads and firemen. That is, of course, what you’d have to do unless you can find a country where you can live comfortably that does not collect taxes.
You know why countries don’t stay anarchic for long? Because they inevitably fall apart and either put someone in charge or they all die, because anarchy doesn’t work.
THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD TEACH THIS IN SCHOOL. I WOULD HAVE UNDERSTOOD THIS IN A FRIKKIN SECOND.
