In a courageous and possibly risky casting choice, “Seabiscuit” director Gary Ross has elected to cast 21-year-old “Glee” star Chris Colfer in the role of Finnick Odair in the upcoming adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ bestseller “Catching Fire.” On the subject of the casting, Ross had this to say:
“Our ‘Hunger Games’ adaptations are being made with Suzanne’s blessing, but the film series diverges from the books’ plot after the first installment. In our ‘Catching Fire,’ Finnick Odair isn’t a former games victor, he’s a Capitol Citizen, and I thought Chris really fit the bill for our version of Finnick.”
This is certainly a divergence from the books, but we’ll have to wait until 2013 to see how it plays out!
When asked about the casting of Finnick’s love interest Annie Cresta, Ross had this to say:
“Unfortunately, in the interest of making a coherent movie, we can’t include every character in our adaptations. Our series won’t contain Annie Cresta, but fans of romance when it comes to Finnick will not be disappointed! We’ll be presenting him as a love interest of fan favorite Effie Trinket. Chris and Elizabeth really have great chemistry together, and I think this is as close to Suzanne’s vision for the series as we can get.”
Ross also revealed that new gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee will be played by 80s television star Lawrence Tureaud, better known by his stage name of “Mr. T,” who advised people who believed this post to check the date, and elaborated:
“You are the general type of person who would receive my pity.”
“Catching Fire” hits theaters in November 2013!

Play the song while staring directly at the image.
But I don’t have any trains to ride during the episode tonight! You could text or even call me and I would be there to wirelessly hold you!

I woke up at 10 this morning and forced myself to go back to sleep so I wouldn’t have as long to wait. I promise I won’t spoil it for you, but I don’t have the self-restraint to wait until tonight, especially when I can’t watch it on BBCA
