Yeah, which is why I make fun of them. It’s like making fun of your really nice neighbor who’s got a nicer house than you for having such a nice house. Yeah, you’re teasing them, but only because they’re so chill about everything, and given the chance, you’d totally move into their awesome house.

Not everyone is as pop culture-literate as the tumblr community, so very often I’ll make a series of references nobody gets before someone finally understands that I’m not actually saying real stuff.
One time I told a girl at a party named Gladys about someone I used to know by that name who tried to poison me, set me on fire. She looked shocked and I said “oh, don’t worry. She used to want me dead, but now she only wants me gone.”
I was, of course, talking about GLaDOS from Portal. It’s a good thing I was accidentally at the party two doors down from the one I was aiming for.

… you realize that most of that stuff you listed from Chinese restuarants has little to no relation to real Chinese food, right?
I am aware, but as someone who’s never been outside of America, my only frame of reference is the food that is readily available to me through local restaurants!

What is your favourite fandom and why?

The Dexter fandom, probably. There’s never any drama, all disagreement is respectful, and it’s usually either adults or very mature teenagers watching it, so there’s rarely any drama. Sometimes there are crazy people who glorify Dexter’s actions, but they are rarely taken seriously.
I love Doctor Who, but there are a lot of ship wars and heated disagreements in the fandom. I love the Hunger Games, but there’s a lot of racism and misogyny in that fandom. I love Sherlock, but the fans are prone to taking jokes two steps past when they stopped being funny. I love Harry Potter, but I feel like that fandom is trying way too hard to stay relevant. Dexter fandom is simple because they pretty much don’t say or do anything.
